FEAST OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI - OCTOBER 4: BLESSING OF PETS AND ANIMALS 12:00 Noon in the parking lot behind St. Joseph's Church.  All are welcome.

 
L.I.F.T. (Learning in Faith Together) - Sunday, October 4 "Living the Eucharist Through Sports."  St. Joseph's Church, 6 - 8 PM. 
This one hour session will explore the rich heritage of sports in the Catholic Faith.  special emphasis is placed on sports as a pwoerful way to living the Eucharist. This will be of speical interst to anyone who enjoys sports and participate as athlete, coach, parent, or fan. 
The speaker is Jim Penrice is a correspondent for Catholic Athletes for Christ, and has contributed to Our Sunday Visitor. 


The evening's format:  
      6:00 PM - Praise and Worship
      6:30 PM - Speaker Presentation
      7:30 PM - Dessert and Q & A with the speaker, in the gym.
ALL ARE WELCOME.

 
BASIC TEACHINGS OF THE CATHOLIC FAITH
 
A ten week introduction to the teachings of the Catholic Faith
 
Intended for:
·        Those who wish to become Catholic
·        Those who are Catholic and who wish to update their knowledge
·        Those who don’t necessarily want to become Catholic, but just want to know what “those Catholics” are all about.
 
Classes will be held on
 
TUESDAY evenings, 7:00 – 9:00 PM
beginning on SEPTEMBER 1, 2009
at
ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH.
 
All classes will be meet in church and will be taught by Father Fred Brucker. This series is intended for adults, but high school students are also welcome.
 
There will be no charge for the classes. There will be a free will offering toward the end of the series. Optional reading will be provided at cost to those who wish to make use of it.

Ongoing Events:

Tuesday Mass is now at 7:00 AM at St. Joseph's.  It's a great way to start your day.  Plus the coffee pot is on so you can grab a brew before you leave for work (please bring your own travel mug).
 
Sundays, 11:30 AM: Inquiry sessions for non-Catholics interested in knowing more about the Catholic Faith.  Free.  No obligation.  Everyone is welcome.


We continue to collect items for the Belding Ecumenical Food Pantry.  In this time of need there are more and more people in need.  Your donations can be placed in front of the altar at either St. Joseph's or St. Mary's or by the elevator at St. Joseph's.  Thank you for helping to feed the hungry.

Non-perishable items are as follows:
CANNED ITEMS: meats, meat sauces, main dish items, mixed vegetables, corn, tomatoes, tomato sauce, peas beans, soups, fruit, potatoes.  BOXED/BAGGED ITEMS: muffin mixes, brownie mixes, dry milk, minute rice, potatoes, cereals, macaroni & cheese, pancake mix, pastas.  HYGIEND PRODUCTS: shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper.  BOTTLES/JARS: peanut butter, jam/jelly, pancake syrup.
